A Heart Awakened By Christ

Verse of The Day: 1 Peter 2:7 NKJV

“Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone””

The love and beauty of Christ can only be truly known when He Himself reveals it to us. Words and descriptions, though helpful, can never fully capture the depth of His love until the Holy Spirit brings them to life within us. Just as we cannot see the sun by the light of any lesser lamp, only Christ Himself can reveal His own glory to our hearts.

Peter was blessed because he recognised Jesus as the Christ, a revelation that came not by human insight but by the Spirit of God. Intellectual understanding alone, no matter how deep, cannot unveil the true essence of Christ. Only the Holy Spirit, moving within us, can make Christ known in a way that changes our lives, illuminating Him as our “all in all” and the Rock of our salvation.

For those touched by His revelation, Christ becomes infinitely precious, the centre of their lives. Yet, to others, He may seem distant or even offensive. Jesus promises to dwell with those who receive Him, to make His home in hearts prepared by the Spirit. May we invite Him in, asking Him to reveal Himself to us in all His glory and never leave.

Take a moment to reflect on the following verses:

1 Corinthians 2:14; Matthew 16:17

Prayer

Heavenly Father, open the eyes of my heart to truly know You. Speak within me, reveal Your love, and draw me closer to You by Your Spirit. Help me see You as You are.
