Boasting in The Lord

Verse of The Day: 1 Corinthians 1:31

“that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord”

It feels natural to take pride in what we achieve. We work hard, we overcome challenges, and we want to celebrate those moments. Yet this verse gently redirects our focus. We are invited to place the spotlight on God and not ourselves

Everything we have, our abilities, opportunities, and even the strength to keep going, comes from Him. When we begin to recognise that, our perspective shifts. Gratitude replaces self praise. Humility grows without taking away our joy. In fact, it deepens it.

Glorying in the Lord does not mean we ignore our efforts. It means we remember the source behind them. It keeps our hearts grounded and reminds us we are never walking alone. When success comes, we give thanks. When things fall apart, we still have reason to trust.

Reflection:

What are you most proud of right now? Take a moment to consider how God has been present in that area. How can you acknowledge Him in it today?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for every good thing in my life. Help me not to rely on my own strength or seek recognition for myself alone. Teach me to honour You in my victories and in my struggles. Keep my heart humble and grateful, always aware of Your hand guiding me. Amen
