Christ: The Essence of our Lives

Verse of the Day: Colossians 3:4 NKJV

“When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory”

The Apostle Paul's profound words reveal that Christ is the very source of our spiritual existence. Before encountering Him, we were spiritually lifeless, trapped in sin and disconnected from God. Yet, just as Jesus called Lazarus from the grave, He has called us into new life, awakening our hearts to His truth. Now, Christ is not only the giver of this life but also its essence. His life within us is what fuels our actions, shapes our thoughts, and gives us the hope of eternal glory.

Christ is also the nourishment of our souls. Just as our physical bodies require food to survive, our spirits are sustained by feeding on Christ—His Word, His sacrifice, His very presence. He is the true bread from heaven, the only sustenance that satisfies the deep hunger of our souls. In the midst of life's wilderness, nothing else can truly fill the void within us but Christ Himself.

How secure, honoured, and joyful is the believer whose life is centred in Christ!
