Verse of The Day: Hebrews 3:12-13
“Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. ”
It rarely starts with a loud rejection of God. Most times, it is quiet. A slow drift. A thought left unchecked. A small compromise that feels harmless. Before long, the heart that once felt close begins to feel distant.
This passage is a gentle but serious reminder. Stay alert. Not fearful, but aware. Our hearts can become numb when we ignore God’s voice again and again. Sin has a way of dressing itself as something reasonable, even comforting. That is why we need each other.
Encouragement is not just a kind gesture. It is protection. A simple message, a prayer, a reminder of truth can keep someone from wandering too far. And sometimes, that someone is you.
God is not far away waiting for you to fail. He is alive, present, and calling you back every moment. Today matters. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Right now.
Reflection:
Is there an area in your life where you have slowly grown distant from God? Who can you reach out to today for encouragement or offer it to?
Prayer:
Lord, keep my heart soft and responsive to You. Help me recognise when I am drifting and draw me back quickly. Place people in my life who will speak truth and love into my journey. And use me to uplift others today. Amen.
