Verse of The Day: Romans 15:1-2
“We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbour for his good, leading to edification”
Strength is not proven by how much we can handle alone but by how gently we handle others. It is easy to live for personal comfort. It is harder to pause and notice someone struggling beside us. Yet this verse calls us to a deeper kind of maturity.
God invites us to use what we have, whether patience, wisdom, or emotional stability, to support those who feel unsure or overwhelmed. This is not about losing yourself. It is about choosing love over convenience. When we focus only on our own needs, we miss the quiet opportunities to reflect God’s heart.
Think about moments when someone showed you kindness when you were at your lowest. That is the kind of presence we are called to offer. Small acts matter. A listening ear. A word of encouragement. A willingness to walk at someone else’s pace. These are powerful ways to build others up.
Today, consider how your strength can become someone else’s support. You may be the answer to a prayer you never heard.
Reflection:
Who around me needs patience or encouragement today, and how can I respond with care rather than convenience?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to see beyond myself. Teach me to use my strength to lift others, not to seek my own comfort. Give me a heart that notices and responds with compassion. Amen.
