Built By God

Verse of The Day: 1 Corinthians 3:9

“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building”

There is something deeply reassuring in knowing that your life belongs to God.

Paul uses two pictures in this verse. He says we are God’s field and God’s building. A field does not produce fruit by accident. It is cultivated, watered and cared for. In the same way, God is continually working in us, developing spiritual maturity and producing fruit that reflects Christ.

Then Paul calls us God’s building. This reminds us that our lives are not random projects. God is constructing something according to His purpose. Some seasons may feel slow. Others may involve correction, stretching or change. Yet the Master Builder knows exactly what He is doing.

There is another important truth here. Paul describes believers as God’s fellow workers. We are not spectators in God’s purposes. By His grace, He allows us to participate in what He is doing in the lives of others.

This means ministry is never about building our own name, influence or reputation. The field belongs to God. The building belongs to God. The work belongs to God.

Our responsibility is simply to remain available, faithful and obedient.

God is working in us, but He also desires to work through us.

Reflection:

What is God currently cultivating in your life? Are you allowing Him to use you in His work, or have you become more focused on your own plans?

Prayer:

Father, thank You that my life belongs to You. Continue Your work in me and produce the fruit that pleases You. Teach me to serve faithfully without seeking recognition for myself. Help me remember that everything I am and everything I do ultimately belongs to You.
