Verse of the Day: Psalm 25:5
“Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.”
Our relationship with God often begins with hesitant steps, much like a young child learning balance. In those early moments, we instinctively depend on Him, asking Him to lead us, shape us, and help us understand His ways. Yet this posture of dependence is not meant to fade with time. King David, though deeply acquainted with God, continually asked the Lord to instruct him. His life shows us that knowing God well never removes the need to keep learning from Him.
This challenges us to resist self-reliance or the temptation to invent our own spiritual paths. Instead, we are invited to walk in the enduring ways God has already established. The Holy Spirit faithfully guides those who approach God with humility and openness. If God Himself initiated our salvation; calling us, redeeming us, and breathing life into us, we can trust that He will also provide ongoing direction for our journey.
Just as David approached God with confidence and dependence, we too can come boldly, trusting God not only to save us but to continually shape and teach us.
Reflection:
Have I remained open to God’s instruction, or have I grown comfortable relying on my own wisdom? Where might God be inviting me to learn again?
Prayer:
Father, lead me in Your ways and train my heart in Your truth. Remove pride and give me a teachable spirit. Let Your Spirit guide my steps so I may walk in obedience and wisdom. Amen.
