Jesus Our Life and Our Light

Verse of the Day: John 1:4

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”

Before anything existed, Jesus was already there. Through Him, everything was made. When God formed humans, life came from Him. This shows that Jesus is not only the Creator, but the giver of life itself. Every living thing depends on Him.

But Jesus gives more than physical life. He also gives new life to our hearts. Sin makes people spiritually dead, but Jesus restores us. When we believe in Him, He fills us with a new beginning, hope, and eternal life. That is why the Bible often calls Him “life.”

This life also becomes light. Light helps us see clearly and keeps us from danger. In the same way, Jesus helps us understand what is right and wrong. Without Him, people walk in confusion. With Him, truth becomes clear. Jesus teaches us through the Bible, through His Spirit, and through those who serve Him. He guides our steps so we do not remain in darkness.

Reflection:

Are you relying on Jesus for daily strength? Are there areas in your life where you need His light to guide you? Take time to trust Him again.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are my life and my light. Thank You for giving me new life. Shine Your light in my heart and lead me in the right path. Help me to walk with You every day. Amen
