No Room For Fear
Verse of The Day: 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Fear has a way of speaking loudly. It tells us what might go wrong, reminds us of past disappointments, and sometimes makes us afraid to take the next step. Yet Paul reminds Timothy that fear is not what God has placed within us.
God has given us power. This does not mean we will always feel strong. It means the Holy Spirit enables us to stand, obey, and keep moving even when we feel inadequate.
God has also given us love. Fear often turns our attention inward. We become consumed with protecting ourselves or worrying about what others think. The love of God frees us to trust Him and to respond to people with grace rather than anxiety.
Then there is a sound mind. God does not want fear to control our thoughts. He gives us the ability to think with spiritual clarity, to remember His Word, and to make decisions from faith rather than panic.
Courage is not pretending that nothing frightens you. Courage is choosing to trust God in the presence of what frightens you.
Whatever you are facing today, do not allow fear to become your counsellor. Listen instead to what God has already said. His Spirit is at work within you, giving you strength to obey, love to respond rightly, and wisdom to walk forward.
Reflection:
What decision, conversation, opportunity, or situation have you been avoiding because of fear? What might change if you approached it believing that God has already equipped you?
Prayer:
Father, thank You that fear does not have authority over my life. Strengthen me to face situations I have been afraid to confront. Fill my heart with Your love and help me respond to people from love rather than fear.
