Pray With Confidence

Verse of The Day: Mark 11:24

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

Prayer is more than presenting a list of needs to God. It is coming before Him with confidence in who He is.

Jesus teaches us that faith should accompany our prayers. Sometimes we pray about something, then immediately begin to speak as though nothing can change. Our lips have prayed, but our hearts are still holding tightly to fear.

Biblical faith does not mean convincing ourselves that God must give us everything exactly as we requested. It means trusting the God to whom we have prayed. We believe that He hears us, that He is able, that He is good, and that His wisdom is greater than ours.

There are prayers whose answers may not appear immediately. Abraham waited. Hannah waited. Daniel prayed before the answer became visible. Waiting did not mean God had ignored them.

When you pray, you can leave the place of prayer differently from how you entered it. You may not yet see the answer, but you can carry peace instead of anxiety. Faith says, “I have placed this before God, and I trust Him with it.”

So pray boldly. Ask sincerely. Stand on His promises. Then resist the temptation to measure God's faithfulness only by what you can presently see.

You have prayed. Now trust the One who heard you.

Is there something you have repeatedly prayed about but still carry as though God has not heard you? What would trusting God with it look like today?

Prayer:

Father, help me to approach You with confidence and to trust Your heart when I pray. Deliver me from fear, doubt and anxiety after prayer. Teach me to rest in Your wisdom and faithfulness.
