Verse of the Day: Ephesians 5:2
“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given
Those who belong to Jesus are called to display a love that reflects His heart. Our Lord revealed love in its fullest form, not through words alone, but by giving Himself completely. In the same way, authentic love among believers is proven through selfless action and costly obedience.
When Jesus surrendered His life to the Father, His offering rose like a pleasing scent. It brought joy to God because it flowed from pure devotion. Our daily choices can carry that same spiritual aroma. Each act of kindness, patience, and surrender, when done with a sincere heart, becomes worship before God.
Scripture invites us to pattern our conduct after Christ. His sacrifice was not forced; it was willingly given. Throughout the early church, men and women such as Priscilla, Aquila, and Epaphroditus embodied this truth by placing others above themselves, even at great personal risk. Their example challenges us to remove pride, bitterness, or selfish ambition that hinders love and to pursue peace within the family of faith.
When love becomes our motive, God is honoured. He rejoices when His children walk in unity and extend grace as Christ did. May our lives continually point others to Jesus, carrying the fragrance of His compassion into a hurting world.
Reflection:
What attitudes or habits might be limiting your ability to love sacrificially? How can you intentionally serve someone this week?
Prayer:
Father, shape my heart to resemble Yours. Teach me to love without condition and to give without counting the cost. Let my life bring You delight and draw others closer to You. Amen.
