Verse of the Day: Job 19:26
“And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God.”
Job’s confident expectation rests on one breathtaking assurance: he will behold the Lord. Not angels, but God Himself. This longing captures the heart of true faith. Heaven’s greatest treasure is not what fills it, but Who reigns there.
Even now, believers glimpse Him through trust, worship, and quiet fellowship. Yet those moments are partial. One day, the veil will lift, and our vision will be clear. To behold Him fully will transform us entirely. Becoming like Him is the highest fulfilment the soul can know.
Do not think this hope is limited. God is boundless. His nature, His deeds, His mercy, His purposes, each offers endless wonder. Eternity will not exhaust the joy of knowing Him. What Job anticipated was not abstract, but deeply personal: my own eyes will look upon Him. This promise invites us to imagine heaven not as a distant concept, but as a coming encounter.
All earthly splendour loses its shine. Yet the radiance of God never dims. This is our hope, our future, our delight.
Reflection:
What competes with your desire for God? How does this promise reshape your view of eternity?
Prayer:
Father, awaken my longing for You above all else. Fix my heart on the day I will see You face to face. Amen.
