The Treasure of Wisdom

Verse of The Day: Proverbs 3:13

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding”

There are moments when what we need most is not another opportunity, more money, or even a quick answer. We need wisdom.

Solomon describes the person who finds wisdom as happy. This happiness goes deeper than excitement about things going our way. It is the confidence that comes from learning to see life from God’s perspective.

Wisdom helps us know when to speak and when to remain silent. It teaches us which opportunities to pursue and which ones to leave alone. It helps us recognise relationships that strengthen our walk with God and decisions that may quietly pull us away from Him.

Many costly mistakes begin when we are in a hurry to decide. We can have information and still make the wrong choice. We can have experience and still misunderstand a situation. This is why God invites us to seek Him.

Biblical wisdom begins with reverence for God. As His Word becomes important to us, our thinking begins to align with His heart. Through prayer, Scripture, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God gives us understanding for everyday life.

Before asking God to make your plans succeed, ask Him whether those plans are wise.

Sometimes the greatest blessing is not getting what we wanted. It is receiving the wisdom to recognise what God wanted instead.

Reflection:

Where in your life do you currently need God’s wisdom more than your own understanding?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making Your wisdom available to me. Teach me to seek Your counsel before making decisions. Give me understanding, discernment, and a heart that values Your Word above my own opinions. Help me recognise what is right and give me courage to follow Your direction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
